Head of Health and Community Care – Lynda Bradford

Orkney Health and Care’s Health and Community Care Service aims to improve and develop health, social care, and community health and wellbeing. We want to provide the best possible care for people in Orkney, wherever they live and whatever their circumstances. We and the Orkney Health and Care Children and Families and Criminal Justice Service provide the full range of social services previously provided by Orkney Islands Council, and a number of services previously provided by NHS Orkney.

The Health and Community Care Service includes, health and social care services for adults, assessment and review services, social work and community nursing, allied health professional services such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy, telecare, residential care, day care and short breaks for all care groups, services to support carers, services for people of all ages with learning disability, services for people with sensory impairment and/or physical disabilities, services for people with mental health conditions including child and adolescent mental health services, services for people with substance misuse issues, rehabilitation and reablement services, and palliative care.
