Personal Profile
Hello, I am Janette Park and I am proud to represent Stromness and the South Isles as one of their councillors.
I was born and brought up on a farm in South Ronaldsay, and after University I came to Stromness for 3 months and decided to stay. I am a partner in the family business of E Flett Butcher in Stromness with my husband John. I believe in locally sourced, sustainably produced goods to support and grow our local economy.
I have nearly 30 years experience in the local heritage sector, previously as the Social History Curator for Orkney Islands Council and I continue to be Honorary Curator at Stromness Museum
I am community focused and was a Community Councillor in Stromness for 7 years and I am a director of Stromness Community Development Trust.
