Date: 18 May 2023

We would like to invite, and indeed challenge, all OIC staff to take the 10-15 minute Numeracy Challenge by following this link:

www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/challenge/llo (Your results are private and only you will see them, with feedback on areas you may need to improve.)

This year, the National Numeracy Day event will be hosted at:

  • Kirkwall Library & Archive (who has kindly agreed to support the event in conjunction with their ‘Open Day.’)
  • Wednesday 17th May 2023
  • 11 am until 5 pm
  • All ages and abilities welcome

If you don’t get the chance to pop down to the library and have a look at all the activities, you can still take part in the numeracy challenge: www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/challenge/llo

National Numeracy is an annual event and an opportunity to join the nationwide conversation about numbers.

More than half the population in the UK have anxiety around maths and/or numeracy, which can lead to lacking the skills and confidence to progress in their studies, limit careers, struggle to help children with homework, budgeting, and so much more.

We hope that many folks will visit us at Kirkwall Library tomorrow, and everyone who attends will have the chance to have a natter about numbers. It may even be an opportunity to take a step towards improving your own numeracy skills and confidence.

Go on – take the challenge at: www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/challenge/llo
