Gritting and Snow Clearance
Gritting of primary and secondary roads within the local authority area when weather conditions may prove hazardous, for example, freezing temperatures, is undertaken by Development and Infrastructure. Orkney Islands Council also provide grit bins for public use on roads and pavements in potentially dangerous areas.

Notify the Council about Wintery Conditions
If you wish to report instances of:
- Icy surfaces.
- Roads affected due to snow.
- Severe road damage following a storm.

Winter Service Plan
