Winter can bring tricky road conditions, especially on the Churchill Barriers. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions.

How can I find out about current conditions and the likelihood of the barriers being closed?
Updates are passed to local press as soon as practicable and publicised through the OIC Updates Facebook page and the Council website. We also issue updates on X (formerly known as Twitter) and via our Telegram channel. There is also a webcam which can be viewed. This webcam is not run by the Council so you will need to follow this link to visit the webcam on the Orkan Adventures website and bookmark it if you find it useful. Bear in mind conditions at the Barriers can be very different from how they appear on camera/from afar.
