How are the closures managed and enforced?

Following a decision to close the barriers, either a Police Scotland, or Council vehicle will be used to block the carriageway at either end of the closure to prevent vehicles from crossing. Advanced warning signs – Barriers Closed – are erected on the approaches to the barriers.  Our colleagues from the Marine Coastguard Association may, subject to their availability and other responsibilities, provide assistance with staffing the closures at the St Margaret’s Hope end.
