Local Nature Reserves
Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) are areas of natural heritage that are at least locally important.
Local authorities select and designate LNRs under Section 21 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 (as amended).
There are two LNRs in Orkney: Mull Head in the East Mainland parish of Deerness and Happy Valley in the West Mainland parish of Stenness.
Further information on both reserves can be accessed from the 'More pages in this section' menu.
