Conservation Advice
Orkney boasts over 640 listed buildings throughout the county which reflect the rich history of the islands. There are four urban conservation areas located in Kirkwall, Stromness, St Margaret’s Hope and Balfour Village and two rural conservation areas at Brodgar and Eynhallow.
For information and advice regarding best conservation practice, please contact the Historic Environment Officer within the Development and Marine Planning Team.
