GP bed at Smiddybrae

We've been trying out a new approach to helping older folk after illness or an accident.

A bed at Smiddybrae in Dounby is used to assist people who for one reason or another temporarily need more care and support than they could receive at home - but aren't at the point where they need to be admitted to hospital.

It's proved to be a good way to get folk back on their feet and ready to return to their own homes.
