Being involved in the child protection system can be a stressful time for families. The involvement of parents, carers and family members in the process is crucial to achieving the best possible outcomes for both the child and their family.

If you have not been advised of a named social worker, the Children and Families social work team have a duty social worker available between 09:00 and 13:00 Monday to Friday.
Social workers are responsible for ensuring that you are kept informed about what is happening, responding to any questions or concerns you have, listening and taking into account of your views, and offering advice and support.
