Primary Care

Primary Care is usually the first point of contact for someone with a healthcare issue. In an emergency you may need to go straight to secondary care where you can access specialist clinicians. The 4 main parts of Primary Care are General Practice, Dental, Pharmacy and Ophthalmology (opticians). In Orkney there are 10 General Practices, 4 dental surgeries, 4 community pharmacies and 1 optician.
