Consultations and Events

Work is progressing to build a new care home in Kirkwall, replacing the existing care home, St. Rognvald House. Following a previous public consultation, a site at Soulisquoy was identified as most suitable for the development.

A Proposal of Application Notice has now been submitted to Orkney Islands Council Planning Authority.

A public exhibition and engagement session will take place in the Friend’s Room at the St. Magnus Centre on Tuesday, 23 January, 2018, from 12:00 to 19:00. It should be noted that this is the first stage of the planning process and does not include detailed plans for the building itself; however, you will be able to see the proposed position of the site and officers will be available to answer any questions that you might have.
