Youth Services
Orkney Health and Care have a Social Work Youth Service for young people, which provides advice and support to young people and their families.
This includes carrying out statutory duties, such as providing reports to the Children's Reporter and to the Court.
Young people who have been Looked After are also able to access Throughcare and Aftercare advice and support.
The service also includes staff with specialised training who provide a Youth Justice service.
This involves working directly with young people who have offended or are at risk of offending.
The service supports the Scottish Government’s initiative to develop a Whole System Approach.
This approach aims to prevent and reduce offending by young people.
