Children and Families Social Work Team
Social Workers are there to help children and their families who are in need or at risk. We will try to work together to make things safer and better for children at home, in the community or in care.
Social Workers provide advice, guidance and direct practical and therapeutic support to children, young people and their families;
We ensure that the best interests of children are paramount in any decision making about their lives, promote and advocate children’s views and rights;
If needed, we can make alternative short term and longer term care arrangements for children and young people who cannot live at home or with other family, for example foster care or residential care;
We work closely with agencies such as Schools, Health, Police, Children’s Reporter, Voluntary Services e.g. Relationship Scotland, Advocacy, Women’s Aid.
