Island Games

The first Island Games were held in 1985 in the Isle of Man as part of that Islands Year of Sport. The intention was to bring together Sportsmen and Sportswomen from a number of small islands from different parts of the World to participate in a festival of sport; 700 competitors from 15 islands took park in 7 sports.

This has developed considerably with over 2000 competitors from approximately 21 islands taking part in 15 sports.
