Frequently Asked Questions

What’s not included under an ActiveLife membership?

The scheme does not include cinema tickets, exercise classes paid for in a ‘block’, or personalised gym programmes after initial programmes offered during sign-up.

Is there a limit on the family membership?

A family membership includes two adults living at the same address and any number of children under 18.

Who is eligible for the Budget option?

If you are receiving a ‘means tested’ benefit payment, i.e. income support, pension guarantee credit, job seeker’s allowance, or employment support allowance, you are eligible for the Budget membership giving you access to activities at any centre for 50p per activity. As these benefits are based on household income, anyone residing at your address can also access activities for 50p per session.

Individuals receiving a war disability pension, disabled living allowance, personal independence payment, attendance allowance or carer’s allowance are entitled to the Budget option also (but not members of their wider household).

I don’t want to take up an ActiveLife membership – what are my options?

You don’t need to be a member to use our facilities, you can opt to pay as you go at the standard ‘Pay and Play’ rate at individual centres.

What is the Leisure Link partnership?

Leisure Link Partnership allows members of fitness schemes in Highland, Moray, Orkney, Shetland, The Western Isles, Sport Aberdeen, Live Boarders and Argyll and Bute to access gym, public swimming and fitness classes at leisure facilities across all of these regions at no extra cost. Many of the individual Leisure Link Partnership sites will also offer access to other public sessions where cardholders can take part in other activities such as running and indoor climbing. The Leisure Link Partnership means that when working away from home or on holiday, members from participating areas can, at no extra cost, use the local facilities as part of their existing home-based membership. Visit the LeisureLink website for full details, which can be accessed from the ‘Related Sites’ section of this page.
