Initially we canvassed our young people about what ‘Culture’ meant to them to get their engagement with activities planned for their benefit over the year. The results mainly fell into 3 categories; Learning about other cultures, mainly Japanese culture as quite a few had an interest there, Orkney heritage “old stuff around Orkney” and Orkney crafts.

We invited and paid for the Orkney Camera Club to come to Eday for the day. The aim was to photograph cultural and natural heritage around the island and provide some workshops and learning for the community.

We hosted 5 music concerts as planned over the Winter Season, together with 2 visual arts events and 2 literary events in addition to the Summer Events. The Summer Events had attracted sell-out audiences with the Winter reflecting more normal attendances. Our Final concert was exceptionally popular with an audience of 97.
