Case Studies

We invited and paid for the Orkney Camera Club to come to Eday for the day. The aim was to photograph cultural and natural heritage around the island and provide some workshops and learning for the community.

We hosted 5 music concerts as planned over the Winter Season, together with 2 visual arts events and 2 literary events in addition to the Summer Events.  The Summer Events had attracted sell-out audiences with the Winter reflecting more normal attendances.  Our Final concert was exceptionally popular with an audience of 97.

Our aims were to promote, preserve and enhance the dancing heritage of Orkney.  Our Summer Special & October Hoolie events achieved this.

We organised 10 Dark Skies Talks which included walks when the weather was suitable

We were very pleased with the way the Festival went. We organised eight events over four days, and using unusual and atmospheric venues, including the Old School Quoyloo, St Peter’s Church Sandwick, the cathedral, and the always-popular Betty’s Reading Room.
