Registrar Details

The main registration office for Orkney is based in the Council Offices, School Place, Kirkwall and is open for appointments Mondays to Fridays between 10:00 and 16:00. Appointments may be available outwith these times, if required.

Any birth or death that occurs anywhere in Scotland can be registered with any registration district in Scotland.

From 24 September 2022, registration of births, deaths and stillbirths can be carried out remotely. 

Registrars seek to deliver a professional, efficient and sympathetic registration service.
