Animal Welfare
The Animal Welfare Section has articles related to the welfare of animals, including various licences for businesses involving the care of animals.
The Environmental Health team aims to reduce the risk to human health from domesticated animals and/or the premises where they are kept, to prevent nuisance from pet animals or from the keeping or boarding of pet animals and to reduce the risk to animal health arising from commercial keeping of pets or similar non-livestock animals.
Stray Animals
Stray dogs should be reported to the Environmental Health team. The dog will be collected and taken to dedicated kennels and the owners contacted.

Please report any concerns you may have regarding health issues arising from the keeping of animals to the Trading Standards team on telephone: 01856873535. The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, SSPCA, is also a useful point of contact for reporting concerns about the well being of animals.
