Statutory nuisances

The Council can investigate certain matters that may be a statutory nuisance. This includes the condition of certain premises, smoke, fumes, gasses, dust, steam, smell, other effluvia, accumulations, water, animals, insects, artificial light, noise, mines and quarries. If you live in Orkney and wish to report a potential statutory nuisance please contact the environmental health team using environmental.health@orkney.gov.uk or telephone 01856 873535 so that appropriate action can be taken.
