All tenders for works above £2,000,000 are advertised on the Public Contract Scotland website. See the 'Related Sites' section on this page.
Tenders for works under £50,000 will be issued directly to pre-qualified / approved contractor, but where the contract value is between £50,000 and £2,000,000 they will advertised either locally or on Public Contracts Scotland.
Access and registration to the Public Contracts Scotland website is free. To participate, contractors are required to complete a project specific European Standard Procurement Document (ESPD), or application form for works up to £50,000, which can be downloaded from the relevant Contract Notice on the Public Contracts Scotland website.
Council’s Dynamic Purchasing System
Orkney Islands Council is committed to reducing the burden of tendering for low value works contracts by removing the need for the completion of repetitive ESPDs and maintains an approved list.
All approved contractors may apply directly to Orkney Islands Council's for inclusion on tender lists where the value of the proposed works is less than £2,000,000. Contractors who are not approved will not be invited to tender, but can apply for inclusion onto the list at any time.
There are two application packs:
For Applications up to £50,000, you will require the following:
- Dynamic Purchasing Application Form - Works up to £50,000.
- Dynamic Purchasing System - Terms and Conditions.
- Asbestos Management Policy.
For Applications for up to £2,000,000, you will require the following:
- European Single Procurement Document.
- Appendix A - Dynamic Purchasing System - Application for Works £50,000 - £2,000,000
- Appendix B - Lots, geographical areas, value bands.
- Dynamic Purchasing System - Terms and Conditions.
- Asbestos Management Policy.
