Career opportunities with our early learning and childcare team
Orkney Islands Council’s Early Learning and Childcare Team is looking to recruit enthusiastic people with a real interest in the early years of a child's development to help deliver quality care for our 'peedie folk'.
The closing date for 16 jobs with the Council's Early Learning and Childcare team has been extended to early January 2022.
The posts range from full time to part time, temporary and permanent – with the team open to considering applications from those looking for part-time work/flexible hours.
Now is an exciting time to consider a career in early learning and child care,as we gear up for busy intakes over coming months and in the new academic year after the summer.
We'd like to hear from people who are interested in a post but feel they are not qualified enough yet - we can steer you in the right direction for training and skills development, and in some cases there will be an option to undertake a post as a trainee.
Of the 16 posts currently being advertised, two are for Early Years Practitioners at the Council’s Willow Tree Nursery in Kirkwall (one 35 hours per week and one 21 hours per week) - both on a 50 weeks per year basis. Also open for applications are four full time term time posts at Glaitness Nursery, Papdale Nursery, St Andrews Nursery and Stromness Nursery.
Prospective applicants are invited to discuss any particular job that interests them by contacting the relevant managers – the details will be in the adverts on the myjobscotland website.
