Universal Credit - payments and budgeting

Universal Credit is paid monthly and directly into a bank account.  If a couple make a joint claim a single payment will be made into 1 account for the whole household.  To prepare for these changes claimants should:  

• Check what changes they need to make.
• Make sure they have a suitable account.
• Work out a monthly budget plan.
