Orkney Islands Regional Marine Plan – Consultation
Orkney Islands Council (OIC), with valuable input from Orkney Marine Planning Advisory Group, has prepared the Orkney Islands Regional Marine Plan: Consultation Draft (OIRMP: Consultation Draft) and supporting assessments on behalf of Scottish Ministers.
The OIRMP: Consultation Draft and supporting assessments were deposited for consultation from 1 August to 25 October. This consultation has now closed and the OIC Marine Planners are reviewing the comments recieved.
The plan will support sustainable management of Orkney’s marine environment and will help decision makers to guide sustainable development to the right places, whilst safeguarding our marine environment and quality of life for Orkney communities. The draft plan contains policies to protect the environment, support community wellbeing and facilitate sustainable development.
