  • Firth School bids a fond farewell to Eileen

    Eileen Fraser is hanging up her apron as a school cook having served up tasty food to primary children in Firth for the past 31 years.

    Eileen is one of many dedicated school catering staff across Orkney who provide an essential service to our children and young people – fuelling their future through food!

    She has been serving up meals to several generations at the old and new Firth Schools.

  • ETV training exercise in Scapa Flow

    The Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s (MCA) emergency towing vessel, IEVOLI BLACK, is due to carry out a training exercise in Scapa Flow on Tuesday 5 April.

    The exercise, which involves the NorthLink ferry HAMNAVOE, is supported by Orkney Islands Council’s Marine Services.

  • School meals update

    A ten pence increase in the price of school meals in Orkney will come into effect following the Easter break.

    From Tuesday 19 April, a two course school meal will cost £2.70 for primary pupils and £2.80 for secondary pupils.
