Youth work fund open until end of April

Orkney Islands Council is encouraging local groups to apply for funding from a national youth work fund.

YouthLink Scotland, the national agency for youth work, is now receiving applications for the latest round of the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities Youth Work Fund for projects delivered between July 2017 and March 2018.

Orkney has been allocated £10,000 in this current round of funding.

YouthLink Scotland welcomes proposals for the delivery of targeted youth work activity programmes which provide diversionary youth work activities for young people aged 10 to 24 who face one or more forms of disadvantage as listed below:

  • Being unemployed, not in education or training.
  • Being excluded, or at risk of exclusion from school.
  • Being at risk of being involved in antisocial behaviour, offending/re-offending.

The closing date for applications is 13.00 on Friday 28 April 2017.
