Work starts inside the cathedral entrance
Date: 19 March 2021
Time: 09:36
Work has started on the replacement vestibule inside the entrance to St Magnus Cathedral.
The project will take several months, with a projected completion date of late August.
During this time, access to the cathedral will continue to be through the south nave side door – there are signs directing the public through the side gate.
Please be aware that there may be restricted access and some noise disruption, whilst the work is carried out.
The project aims to carry out essential maintenance on the stonework of the west wall of the cathedral and to construct the new internal vestibule.
The £191,498.00 contract was awarded to Casey Construction Ltd.
