Winter hours for Aikerness public toilet

Fans of Aikerness Beach in Evie are being advised the public toilet there is now operating shorter opening hours, from 12:00 (midday) to 16:00 daily.

This is due to a combination of strict Covid-19 requirements for regular cleaning of all the Council’s public toilets, and the lack of electricity supply or lighting at the toilet which means the toilet cannot be reasonably cleaned outside daylight hours.

These arrangements will be kept under review.

Alternative public toilets are located in Dounby village and Tingwall ferry waiting room.
