Westray waste collection update - Thursday's catch-up collection cancelled

Due to an unfortunate flurry of vehicle issues, it won’t be possible to send a waste collection lorry out to the island tomorrow (Thursday 15 August) as originally planned as a catch-up from Monday’s (12 August) bad weather cancellation.

The next scheduled collection for Westray is on Monday 19th August - the lorry will head out to collect this week's and next week's black bags from customers then.

Meantime – the Council apologises for the continued disruption and urges folk to reach out and offer help to anyone they think might struggle to store their waste til the next collection.
