Weather related service disruptions - Monday 12 August
Date: 12 August 2024
Time: 08:45
Here's a rolling update of service disruptions today due to challenging weather conditions.
- A message from our waste team, for folks in Bridge Street and Albert Street (Kirkwall) as at midday: We've unfortunately been unable to carry out some waste collections through the street today, as there is currently a road closure in place at the Laing St Junction (it looks to be urgent utilities works). Our drivers have managed to reverse in and have collected from about 90% of properties. For those that have not had a collection yet in Bridge St/ Albert St, we'll be making another attempt later today - so keep unemptied bins out meantime.
- There are a number of ferry cancellations and delays today - check in with your travel provider for the latest updates.
- There will be no bin collection in Westray today due to ferry cancellations - the collection has been rescheduled for Thursday, 15 August.
- Planned surface dressing for the A961 in South Ronaldsay has been postponed to tomorrow (Tuesday 12 August).
