Voting opens to elect second MSYP for Orkney

Voting is open to select a second Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYP) candidate to represent Orkney.
The four candidates for the by-election are: Euan Harcus, Nymeria Drayak, Orla Drever, Gerald Hodgson. Their profiles are available to view on the Scottish Youth Parliament website.
Voting is online at the Young Scot website.
You will need your Young Scot National Entitlement Card number or a temporary registration number to vote. Young people without a Young Scot card can email Richard Smith from the Council's youth services team.
Once on the voting page, follow the prompts:
- enter your Young Scot card number;
- select your constituency (Orkney);
- You will be asked to rank your preferred candidates in order, with 1 being your top choice, 2 being your second choice. You can rate as many or as few candidates as you would like. You cannot rank two or more candidates as equal, or leave out a number in a sequence; your ranking should be 1 or 1,2,3… etc NOT 1,2,4,5 or similar;
- confirm your vote.
Voting closes at 2pm on Friday 2 December with the successful candidate due to be announced on the OIC Updates Facebook page later that day.
The Council’s Community Learning and Development has been supporting each candidate through the process of standing.
