Views sought on how the Council buys in goods, services and works

Date: 25 July 2024

Time: 09:00

Folk in Orkney are being asked to share their views on how the Council buys goods, services and works from third parties – ensuring that its spending power is used sustainably and achieves value for money.

A draft Sustainable Procurement Policy has been updated incorporating changes from the latest Procurement Strategy published late last year to ensure the Council delivers its key strategic objectives and meets its legal duties.

The policy is intended for all of those who are involved in, or affected by, the Council’s procurement activities throughout our community and beyond.

It supports the commitment to sustainable procurement which is set out in the Council’s Corporate Procurement Strategy 2023 –2028 and outlines how sustainable purchasing of goods, services and works supports and contributes to the implementation of the Council’s Delivery Plan 2023 – 2028.

You can find the draft policy in the related downloads section of this page and fill out the online questionnaire here: smartsurvey.co.uk/s/sustainable-procurement/

If you prefer, you can download a copy, fill out and return to Rosemary Colsell, Service Manager (Procurement), Procurement Services, Strategy, Performance and Business Solutions, Orkney Islands Council, Council Offices, Kirkwall, Orkney, KW15 1NY or via email Rosemary.colsell@orkney.gov.uk by 5pm 6 September 2024.
