Update on Ayre Mills roundabout road works

Orkney Islands Council is advising Phase 1 of the resurfacing road works on Ayre Mills roundabout should be completed today, with works expected to move onto Phase 2 tomorrow, Saturday when the diversions will change. These will be signed.

Phase two will involve closing off access to the roundabout from Ayre Mills Road and Grainshore Road, with signed diversions via Pickaquoy Road and Hatston Brae. Three way traffic lights will be in place. Phase 2 is expected to require around 4 days to complete.

Access to Ayre Mills filling station will be maintained throughout the works. Public bus services X1, 4, 6, 7, 8S, 9 and X10 will follow the diversions.
