Tributes paid to former Councillor, Cyril Annal

Orkney Islands Council is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Councillor, Cyril Annal.

Cyril was Councillor for the South Ronaldsay and Burray Ward, first elected in 1990 and represented his constituents for four consecutive terms before standing down prior to the 2007 elections - serving Orkney Islands Council for 17 years in total. He was also a Crofting Commissioner for the Orkney and Caithness region.

Paying tribute to Mr Annal, Council Convener Graham Bevan said:

“Cyril played a key role in serving both the people of the South Ronaldsay and Burray Ward and the Orkney community as a whole. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this extremely sad time.”
