“Tree”-mendous effort by home carer
Date: 5 January 2022
We just wanted to share the “tree”mendous efforts that many of our Home Carers go to during the festive period.
Not only do they give up their own family time to look after others, but they add a bit of Christmas sparkle while doing it.
Heather Taylor began as a relief Home Carer around 15 years ago, becoming contracted two years later and she loves her job.
As you can see here, she put in a bit of extra effort over the festivities when visiting her service users.
Heather said: “It has been such a very hard year, so I really wasn't having Christmas, but all my services users have had it even harder, so I do try to make them smile. I thought I would spread a bit of Christmas spirit to them and their families. It was lovely to see their reaction. Even the families were laughing. So, I think it was worth it and my job was completed successfully, I think.
“Caring is such a valued job. Every day is so precious - you meet folk and try to make their life the best you can and hopefully when I'm older somebody would do the same for me one day.”
