Traffic restrictions advised
Date: 28 June 2021
Time: 09:52
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) have advised that refurbishment work at the Sunnybank Substation in Stromness will mean restrictions to traffic and pedestrian access at times over the days ahead.
This will be between 44 and 45 Hillside Road, where it splits into the Cauldhame and Wardhill Roads.
The work is due to begin today:
- June 28 - 30 – Road closed, pedestrian access available.
- July 1 – 5 – Road open (one lane), pedestrian access available.
- July 6 – Road closed, no pedestrian access.
- July 7 – 8 - Road open (one lane), pedestrian access available.
- July 9 – Road closed, pedestrian access available.
- July 10 – 11 - Road open (one lane), pedestrian access available.
- July 12 – 16 - Road closed, pedestrian access available (during this time, one lane may be open when work isn’t taking place).
For access into Stromness during road closures, the diversion in place will be the Wardhill Road leading to the Brownstown Road.
SSEN apologise for any inconvenience caused, but say these steps need to be taken for the refurbishment work to be carried out safely.
