Top baby names of 2023 revealed

It's time to take a look back at the new peedie residents who joined us in 2023!

Here's a snapshot of the most popular name choices for girls and boys in Orkney last year.

Up to 31 December 2023, 162 births (74 girls and 88 boys) – were registered with the Registrar Service at Orkney Islands Council.

The popular boys names in Orkney for 2023 were Archie (4) and Finn (4).

A bit more mixed for the lasses, with popular girls' names being Aria (2), Ara, (2), Hallie (2) Lara (2), Lily (2) and Maisy (2).
