The Riding of the Marches Temporary Closure of Roads in Kirkwall and St Ola

Notice is hereby given that Orkney Islands Council has made an order in terms of section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to the effect that on Sunday, 11 August 2024, in connection with the Riding of the Marches, the roads in Kirkwall specified in the Schedule 1 hereto will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking will not be permitted between the hours specified in Schedule 1. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic are available by way of adjoining roads.

In addition, no parking will be permitted between the hours specified in Schedule 2 in the roads and car park specified in Schedule 2.

While the Riding of the Marches is taking place, traffic controls will also be in operation along the remainder of the route. Vehicles will be subject to delays and possible speed restrictions.
