The Orkney Islands Council (Stromness and Kirkwall Roads Maintenance) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users while carriageway maintenance works are carried out.

The Order shall be in operation from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, and its effect will be to close sections of the roads referred to in the Schedule below, when required. Traffic will be subject to delays and to possible speed restrictions of ten, twenty or thirty miles per hour. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.

Alfred Street, Dundas Street, Ferry Road, Graham Place, John Street, Ness Road, South End, and Victoria Street.

Roads Affected in Kirkwall

Albert Street, Bridge Street, Main Street, Tankerness Lane, and Victoria Street.
