The Orkney Islands Council (Roads Maintenance 2) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of site personnel and road users while carriageway maintenance works are carried out.

The Order shall be in operation from Monday 1 April 2024 to Monday 31 March 2025, and its effect will be to close the sections of the roads referred to in the Schedule below, when required. Traffic will be subject to delays and to possible speed restrictions of ten, twenty or thirty miles per hour. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road is closed.

Schedule

Roads in Stromness: Alfred Street, Dundas Street, Ferry Road, Graham Place, John Street, Ness Road, South End, and Victoria Street.

Roads in Kirkwall: Albert Street, Bridge Street, Main Street, Tankerness Lane, and Victoria Street.
