The Orkney Islands Council (Pickaquoy Road, Kirkwall) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during works by Andrew Sinclair Ltd. on behalf of Openreach to repair a manhole cover.

The Order will come into operation on Monday 22 May 2023 for the period until and including Sunday 28 May 2023 and its effect will be to close Pickaquoy Road, Kirkwall, between its junctions with Great Western Road and Junction Road, when required.

As a consequence of the road closure, there will be a suspension of parking on West Castle Street for the same duration to enable any diverted bus traffic to turn right out of the Travel Centre safely.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when the road is closed.
