The Orkney Islands Council (Orkney Folk Festival) (Temporary Closure) Order 2022

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during the Orkney Folk Festival.

The Order will be in operation from shall be in operation from Thursday 26 May 2022 until Sunday 29 May 2022. Its effect will be to:

(1) Close Victoria Street, Stromness (from No 14 Victoria Street to the junction with Church Road) and Ferry Road, Stromness (from No 14a Victoria Street to its junction with Victoria Street) between the hours of 10:00am and 18:00pm on Saturday 28 May 2022 and Sunday 29 May 2022; and

(2) Prohibit parking Between 08:00am on Thursday 26 May 2022 and 23.59pm on Sunday 29 May 2022 within the parking bays located between Nos. 14 to 16 Victoria Street, Stromness and located between Nos. 14a to 16 Victoria Street (Ferry Road), Stromness; and

(3) Introduce a temporary one-way traffic order to enable traffic to drive in an easterly direction from Victoria Street to Ferry Road, during the operation of the Order.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road or parking bay is closed.
