The Orkney Islands Council (A986 Harray) (Temporary Closure) Order 2022

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during Orkney Islands Council’s replacement of a culvert and carriageway reinstatement works.

The Order will be in operation from Tuesday 18 October 2022 to Thursday 22 December 2022 and its effect will be to close the A986 in Harray, between the junction of Grimeston Road and the property of Refuge, when required. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when the road is closed. Vehicles using this length of road will be subject to delays and to possible speed restrictions of either ten miles, twenty miles or thirty miles per hour. Vehicular traffic may also be restricted to using one lane of the carriageway.
