The Orkney Islands Council (A966 Near Junction with Hammer Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2022

Orkney Islands Council has made the above-named Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during retaining wall repair works.

The Order will be in operation from Friday 2 December 2022 to Friday 31 March 2023 and its effect will be to close the A966 between its junctions with Skiddy Road and Woodwick Road, when required. Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when the road is closed. Vehicles using this length of road will be subject to delays and a possible speed restriction of thirty miles per hour. Vehicular traffic may also be restricted to using one lane of the carriageway.
