Temporary closure of Great Western Road (South) car park - 31 January to 1 February

Orkney Islands Council is advising of planned maintenance on the Great Western Road (South) car park tomorrow (Wednesday 31 January) and possibly into Thursday. (That’s the car park opposite Tesco and Lidls in Kirkwall.)

The car park entrance will be closed off tonight (Tuesday 30 January) from about 6pm to facilitate the works.

Anyone already parked there will still be able to exit but is asked to try and remove vehicles by lunchtime tomorrow (Wednesday).

The access to the burger van/lorry/bus park area will still be open for use.

Meantime drivers are advised to plan to avoid this car park over the next few days.

The Council thanks folks for their patience and apologises for any inconvenience this work may cause.
