Orkney Islands Council and partner agencies are delighted to assist and support NHS Orkney in the mass delivery of the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination programme in the county.
People, aged between 42-64 - on the Orkney Mainland, including South Ronaldsay and Burray, who have not yet had a COVID vaccine are being asked by NHS Orkney to come forward to clinics being held at the Pickaquoy Centre from Monday 15 March until Saturday 20 March.
They are also able to offer COVID vaccinations to all unpaid carers – those aged 42-64 can go to the Pickaquoy Centre, while others aged under 42 will need to arrange an appointment by calling the Kirkwall Vaccination Centre on 0300 303 5313 as of today, 9 March.
Further information is available on the NHS Orkney Facebook page and NHS Orkney website.
OIC and partners have offered their assistance as has been done previously in terms of administration, marshalling, promotion, and weather-related operations.
Hayley Green, OIC Head of IT and Facilities, said: “It has been fabulous to see Team Orkney working together to support the NHS throughout the whole of the pandemic, and even more so to see everyone stepping up to support the vaccination programme.
“Our public and third sector partners have just got on with what needs doing without fuss and delivered a true community solution across all our Islands.”
