Surface dressing update for Tuesday 22 June
Date: 21 June 2021
Time: 03:53
Crews have partially completed Yinstay Road in Tankerness today, 21 June.
Tomorrow, Tuesday 22 June, crews will return to Yinstay Road in the morning to complete work there, before moving onto Tankerness Hall Road in Tankerness in the afternoon.
Tuesday’s surface dressing will take place on the Tankerness Hall road from the junction with the main A960 Kirkwall to Deerness road to the junction with the Swarsquoy road.
A signed detour will be in place while this work is carried out.
Bus passengers who use Service 3 (Kirkwall to Deerness via Tankerness) are advised that that there will be no pick ups along this section of the Tankerness Hall Road on Tuesday for the late morning service from Deerness and the lunchtime service in both directions. The work may also affect services later in the day. Passengers are advised to pick up the bus outwith this stretch of road. The bus will instead go via Churchyard and Shore roads while surface dressing is taking place. Passengers should note it is likely work on Tankerness Hall Road, and impacts on Service 3, will continue on into Wednesday 23 June also.
Any changes will be posted in the News section of the Council’s website as well as on the OIC Updates Facebook page, and on Twitter @OIC_Roads.
The Council would like to thank motorists and bus passengers for their ongoing patience and cooperation as this important work is carried out.
