Surface dressing update for 23 June
Date: 22 June 2021
Time: 03:05
Crews have completed surface dressing road works on Yinstay Road in Tankerness today, 22 June and are now moving to Tankerness Hall Road, to carry out surface dressing works from the junction with the main A960 Kirkwall to Deerness road to the junction with the Swarsquoy road.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 23 June, crews will return to Tankerness Hall Road to complete work there.
A signed detour will be in place while this work is carried out.
Bus passengers who use Service 3 (Kirkwall to Deerness via Tankerness) are advised that that there will be no pick ups along this section of the Tankerness Hall Road in both directions while surface dressing works are carried out. Passengers are advised to pick up the bus outwith this stretch of road. The bus will instead go via Churchyard and Shore roads while surface dressing is taking place.
Full road closures will be in place between 9am and 5pm while surface dressing is underway (and possibly later if the crews are close to finishing the work).
Any changes will be posted in the News section of the Council’s website as well as on the OIC Updates Facebook page, and on Twitter @OIC_Roads.
The Council would like to thank motorists and affected residents and businesses for their continued patience and cooperation while this important work is carried out.
