Stromness flagstone repairs - update on road closures for week starting 15 November
Date: 12 November 2021
Update on road closures in the centre of Stromness due to current flagstone repairs:
Next week (week starting 15 November), works will be continuing in the section of John Street from below E. Flett’s Butcher shop to The Royal British Legion - so access to E. Flett’s Butcher shop and Stromness Surgery will continue to be via John Street. This section of the works is expected to be completed mid-week but will remain closed for a few more days to allow curing to take place - so, weather dependent, the section could reopen on Friday 19 November.
Following on from this, work will continue along Victoria Street, from Bank Lane towards its junction with Ferry Road, at the fountain.
In conjunction with the Victoria Street repairs, there will also be a section of the slabs, adjacent to the fountain, on Ferry Road, being repaired - appropriate signs and barriers will be in place.
The Council thanks motorists in advance for their patience and for driving with care around staff and contractors working on our roads.
